Playing Omaha poker is similar to Texas Holdem, except that in Omaha each player is dealt four hole cards, while in Texas Holdem each player is dealt only two hole cards. In Omaha, the player has to form the highest five card hand of two of his four hole cards and three of the five community cards placed at the center of the table.
In Omaha hi lo, the pot is divided between the players with the best high poker hand and the player with the best low poker hand. The Omaha hi lo players goal is to form the best high or low poker hands using two hole cards and three community cards. The highest possible Omaha low hand is 87654.
Omaha Strategy
The best Omaha strategy is to calculate the shared value of your two hole cards and the three community cards. In addition, when the seven of the total nine cards are exposed after the flop, the player can already estimate the value of his hand.
